Pacific Northwest Oil Heat Council

The Pacific Northwest Oil Heat Council (PNOC) was founded in 1942 to serve the oil heat community, which included both consumers and heating oil service providers.

The Pacific Northwest Oil Heat Council still exists in the Seattle area to:

  • Educate consumers on the benefits of oil heat
  • Provide legislative protection to heating oil dealers in Washington State
  • Offer training programs to oil heat service technicians

In 2005 the Pacific Northwest Oil Heat Council joined forces with the Washington Oil Marketers Association to provide a more cohesive and consistent voice in the State Legislature.

Our association works every day with Washington legislators and state agencies to help keep regulations in check while not raising heating oil prices to consumers.

The association, bound by the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, is prohibited from discussing price. The antitrust laws are a comprehensive charter of economic controls aimed at promoting free competition. Therefore, at no time, will a spokesman or director of PNOC be allowed to quote prices. The association may discuss heating oil trends, but only in general economic terms.

There are currently 31 members of the Washington Oil Marketers Association who distribute heating oil in the State of Washington. Check out our Locate A Dealer section for the Washington Heating Oil Dealer near you.
